This fund supports flexible, unrestricted grantmaking to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, allowing us to respond quickly and effectively to emerging community needs. By contributing, donors help ensure vital resources are available where they are needed most, when they are needed most.

The Community Inclusion & Empowerment Fund supports programs and initiatives that promote equity, access, and opportunity for all members of Manatee County. By funding efforts that remove barriers and amplify diverse voices, this fund helps build a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone can thrive. It’s a commitment to empowering individuals and fostering belonging across the region. Some projects this fund supports include the African American Heritage Trail, the Changemakers Collective, and the Latino Collaborative.

The Disaster Relief Fund provides critical support to organizations providing support for any emergency. By empowering these organizations with flexible resources, the fund helps ensure timely and effective relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts.

In partnership with Credit Union 1, this initiative benefits local nonprofit organizations that serve financially vulnerable and limited-income residents, including nonprofit staff and their clients. Through grants, workshops, training, and resources, this program helps build financial well-being on both personal and professional levels.

The Forever Manatee Fund is established in honor of Bob Christopher, Bob Beall, Bob Blalock, and Dot Ridings whose vision and generosity gave rise to Manatee Community Foundation. This endowed fund exists to sustain the Foundation, ensuring that the values of its founders continue to guide its work for generations to come. 100% of the annual distributions support MCF's Operating Fund, strengthening MCF so it will continue to serve the community they loved in perpetuity.

The Foster Care Family Fund supports the well-being of children in foster care and the families who care for them in Manatee County. By addressing urgent needs and providing meaningful resources, the fund helps create stability, comfort, and opportunity during times of transition. It is a way for the community to show up for some of its most vulnerable members with compassion and support.

This Housing Empowerment Fund supports and benefits organizations and projects that support people in Manatee County who are experiencing housing insecurity, addiction, or fleeing crisis situations.

The MCF In Memory Fund offers a meaningful way to honor and remember loved ones by supporting charitable causes in their name. Contributions to this fund create a lasting legacy, helping to improve lives and strengthen the community while keeping the memory of those we’ve lost alive. It’s a powerful tribute that turns remembrance into impact.

The MCF General Scholarship Fund supports students from Manatee County who are pursuing higher education at accredited colleges or universities. This fund helps reduce financial barriers and allows students to focus on achieving their academic and career aspirations. Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit, need, and community involvement.

The MCF Technical Scholarship Fund is dedicated to students pursuing certifications, vocational training, or degrees in technical and skilled trades. By investing in career focused education, this fund helps individuals gain the skills needed for in-demand jobs and long-term economic stability. It’s a vital resource for students taking nontraditional or hands-on paths to success.

By investing in the foundation’s day-to-day operations, this fund ensures we have the flexibility and capacity to respond to community needs, support nonprofits, and sustain our impact over time. The Program Related Investment Fund was founded as a helping hand to nonprofit partners. A program-related investment (PRI) is a type of mission or social investment that foundations make in order to achieve their philanthropic goals. Like grants, PRIs are vehicles for making inexpensive capital available to organization.

REACH Manatee is our local College Access Network, working to ensure that students from limited-income backgrounds can achieve their full potential through education and career training. The initiative focuses on increasing FAFSA completion, raising awareness about the value of higher education and skilled trades, and supporting families through the college and career journey.
